SPRING, Texas -- A Texas teacher jumped into action Monday morning when a student stopped breathing.
It happened at Claughton Middle School in the Spring Independent School District. When the student became unconscious, a classroom teacher was able to perform CPR until that student was revived.
According to Spring ISD, "the classroom teacher immediately began CPR while EMS was called. Another teacher assisted with the CPR until the student was breathing and EMS was on the scene."
According to the district, the student has ongoing health issues that predated the incident.
The parent and a school administrator accompanied the child to Texas Children's Hospital. At this point, we don't know what caused the student to stop breathing.
"We are staying in contact with the family and will continue to monitor the situation," Spring ISD stated in a press release.
