TORRANCE, Calif. (KABC) -- A suspicious military ordnance found at the Turner's Outdoorsman sporting goods store in Torrance prompted evacuations and road closures Saturday.

Torrance police responded to the store in the 18300 block of Hawthorne Boulevard at 8:20 p.m. after the device was brought inside the store and placed on the counter.

Nearby stores were evacuated, and the southbound lanes of Hawthorne Boulevard were closed between 182nd and 186th streets.

A Los Angeles County sheriff's bomb squad collected the device for evidence and gave an "all-clear" shortly before 10 p.m. No injuries were reported.
