IRWINDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- Two children and an adult were hospitalized after a vehicle went over an embankment on the southbound 605 Freeway in Irwindale, Los Angeles County fire officials said Saturday.

The vehicle went down near the Arrow Highway exit around 2:13 p.m., according to fire officials.

Officials said it appeared the vehicle hit a light pole, knocked it over and then fell down the embankment. The accident may have been weather-related, according to the CHP.

Two patients were taken by an emergency crew helicopter to a local trauma center, and the third was taken by ground ambulance, Los Angeles County fire officials said.
