SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (KABC) -- Family and friends are turning to the Internet to help raise money for an Orange County teen who was critically injured in a car crash while playing on a skateboard.

A GoFundMe page has been created for Taylor Pearcy, who was struck by a car on Monday at Camino Mira Costa and Plaza Estival in San Clemente. According to the fundraising page, the 13-year-old was trying out a friend's skateboard when she slipped and fell into the street before the incident.

Pearcy was not wearing a helmet when she was hit and suffered severe head injuries.

She has had two surgeries and faces several more.

Loved ones are hoping to raise $100,000 to help pay for her care and therapy.
