Medals were given to 45 Orange County sheriff's deputies for showing courage on the job, including a trio who responded to a suicidal man with a gun, taking him into custody without injury.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- Medals were given to 45 Orange County sheriff's deputies Thursday for showing courage on the job.

Among the honorees were three deputies who were shot at by a suicidal man with an assault weapon and who managed to take him into custody without injuring the suspect or themselves.

Three deputies were among 45 honored for bravery by the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
