EAST LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A big rig crashed and overturned on the connector road from the southbound 5 Freeway to the 60 Freeway in East Los Angeles early Thursday morning, snarling traffic and spilling oil.

The crash was reported at 4:44 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Monica Posada said.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The truck spilled oil on the No. 1 and 2 lanes when it overturned.

A Caltrans crew was called to the scene to clean up the spill. The connector road was closed until around 11 a.m. when it reopened.
