Police have released surveillance video of a home-invasion robbery in Palos Verdes Estates in hopes of finding the four suspects who remain at large.

The incident was reported in the 1700 block of Lower Paseo La Cresta at about 8 p.m. Saturday.

The four masked suspects entered through an open garage door, according to Palos Verdes Estates police Sgt. Steve Barber.

"Once inside, they confronted the couple that was living there, forced them to the ground, tied them up with zip ties and then proceeded to ransack the house," Barber said.

The four suspects, described as black males, tied the two residents up for about 30 minutes while they searched the residence for valuables.

Jewelry and other valuables were stolen, according to investigators who refused to release further details on the stolen items.

Investigators believe the robbery was not random.

"There were some statements made by the suspects during the robbery that lead us to believe that it was not random," Barber said.

Neighbors like Monica Reino are now beefing up their own home security.

"We're all very concerned and, you know, scared, and now we're trying to have all of the cameras working 24-7, all of the alarms inside working 24-7, and our people, our maids and everybody, is looking out more carefully now," Reino said.

Palos Verdes Estates police are checking with other agencies, including the sheriff's department and Manhattan Beach police, to see if the four suspects are also responsible for similar robberies in the surrounding areas.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with further information was urged to contact the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department at (310) 378-4211.
