Parents sought in 3-year-old girl's death investigation
North Las Vegas police are asking for the public's help in locating two parents in connection with the death of their 3-year-old daughter. Investigators say 39-year-old Jondrew Lachaux and 38-year-old Kellie Phillips may be headed to Los Angeles.

LAS VEGAS (KABC) -- North Las Vegas police are asking for the public's help in locating two parents in connection with the death of their 3-year-old daughter.

Investigators say 39-year-old Jondrew Lachaux and 38-year-old Kellie Phillips may be headed to Los Angeles or Oakland.

The couple's 17-year-old daughter is being held in connection with the death of her little sister. In addition, the teenage mother is also accused of abusing her own baby. The infant is in a hospital fighting for her life.

Officers were dispatched to the family's North Las Vegas home on Wednesday, a day after the teenager brought her 4-month-old daughter to a hospital severely malnourished and suffering from critical injuries.

Inside the house, police found the body of her 3-year-old sister who had been dead for a few weeks. The teenage mother and her baby were living in the house with the dead child.

The 17-year-old was arrested for one count of child abuse with substantial bodily harm and transported to Clark County Juvenile Detention Center. North Las Vegas police believe the 3-year-old girl had been left in her care by their parents.

Investigators are also concerned about the well-being of five additional children between the ages of 1 and 9 believed to be with them.

"We believe that some time ago, several months ago, the parents left the residence on Wood Thrush. They left the 3-year-old child and the 17-year-old sister of the 3-year-old child at the residence alone," said North Las Vegas police officer Aaron Patty.

Police say they are not calling the parents suspects, but they are wanted for questioning.

Anyone with information on this case was urged to contact the North Las Vegas Police Department at (702) 633-9111 or Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
