Passenger killed in car-to-car shooting in Montclair

MONTCLAIR, Calif. (KABC) -- A male passenger was fatally shot in a car on the 4500 block of Canoga Street at Ramona Avenue by occupants in another car in Montclair Tuesday. The suspects and their vehicle remained at large.

Montclair police officers responded to a report of shots fired at about 5 p.m. The victim was found in the passenger seat. Responding paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene, police said.

Preliminary witness statements indicated there was a verbal confrontation with occupants in another vehicle, and gunshots were fired. The passenger was hit one or more times, police said, but the driver of the sedan was uninjured. No other victims were reported.

The suspect vehicle was described as a light-colored sedan, possibly a Honda or Nissan, with at least two occupants.

Two suspects in the suspect vehicle were described as white or Hispanic males in their 20s wearing bandanas over their faces.
