Passing meteor wows Eastern Seaboard Sunday night
A meteor about the size of a small car blazed across the sky Sunday night, wowing people from New Jersey to Ohio.

WAYNE, N.J. -- A meteor about the size of a small car blazed across the sky at a speed of tens of miles per second on Sunday night. People from New Jersey to Ohio reported seeing a fireball in the sky.

Scientists say that though it looks like it came close to Earth, the meteor was actually 60 to 100 miles above us.

They believe after the burning rock thrilled earthlings, it probably shot back into space.
