Pedestrian killed in Rialto car crash

RIALTO, Calif. (KABC) -- A 48-year-old man attempting to cross a Rialto street was struck and killed by a car on Sunday, Rialto police said.

The accident occurred at about 2 a.m. in front of El Toro Grill in the 300 block of East Foothill Boulevard. Police found the man lying on the westbound portion of the road. He was later declared dead at the scene.

Authorities believe the man was crossing the street outside of the crosswalk when he was hit. It was unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
