Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash on westbound 105 Freeway in South Los Angeles

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash on the 105 Freeway in South Los Angeles early Saturday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on the westbound side of the freeway at Vermont Avenue at around 5:30 a.m.

The male pedestrian was killed after possibly being hit by multiple vehicles - none of which stopped. No vehicle descriptions were immediately available.

It's unclear why the victim was walking on the freeway.

All westbound lanes of the 105 Freeway except the carpool lane were closed following the incident.
