The Los Angeles Police Department arrested two people Monday after a car chase that ended in a fiery crash.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Los Angeles Police Department arrested two male suspects Monday after a car chase that ended with a crash.

Two retired Santa Ana police officers called in a potential robbery at a Citibank branch on Rinaldi Street, according to the LAPD. Once authorities responded to the scene, the chase began.

Police pursued the vehicle, carrying the two suspects, before they crashed on Tampa Avenue and Nordhoff Street in Northridge. The suspects' black Mercedes caught on fire and damaged another car.

Four cars in all were damaged in the chase and subsequent crash but no one was seriously injured, police said.

Authorities are still investigating the incident.
