ORANGE, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities have taken a suspect into custody after an hours-long standoff in front of Lamoreaux Justice Center in Orange that initially began as a pursuit through several cities in Orange County.

The suspect, identified as 46-year-old Taylor Hall, allegedly threatened the life of a Tustin woman believed to be his estranged wife over the phone on Sunday. He was reportedly angry she had recently filed a restraining order against him.

Tustin police went to the suspect's home in Irvine to investigate. Hall refused to speak with them and claimed to be armed. He fled his home, which prompted the chase.

Hall drove through Irvine, Santa Ana and ultimately stopped in front of the courthouse in Orange, where he sat for several hours.

Witness Kimia Azari said he seemed unconcerned about the police presence and waved to bystanders.

It was unclear what prompted him to get out of the vehicle, but once he was out, a K-9 and less lethal projectile was used to subdue him. Orange County Sheriff's Department SWAT, K-9 and Crisis Negotiation teams assisted Tustin and Orange police with ending the barricade.

He was booked for violent threats, resisting law enforcement, reckless evading, battery on a police officer and harming a law enforcement dog.
