VIDEO: Mom causes daughter's scalp to bleed
A mother living in a Pittsburgh suburb faces charges for pulling her 6-year-old daughter's hair so hard it caused internal bleeding.

A western Pennsylvania woman has been jailed on charges that she pulled her 6-year-old daughter's hair so hard it separated her scalp from her skull and caused bleeding.

Online court records don't list an attorney for 25-year-old Brittany Ruck of Conway who faces a preliminary hearing October 23 on charges including aggravated assault and child endangerment.

Conway police filed the charges Monday but said the incident happened on August 27.

Police said Ruck apparently pulled the girl's hair because Ruck was upset that the child couldn't count to 12.

Ruck remained in the Beaver County Prison on Wednesday, unable to post $50,000 bond.
