Police shoot armed suspect in Santa Ana

SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- Authorities shot and wounded an armed suspect in Santa Ana Sunday night.

An officer-involved shooting broke out in the 800 block of South Townsend Street around 6 p.m. The suspect was transported to UCI Medical Center in stable condition.

A weapon was recovered at the scene. An investigation into the shooting was underway.

It is unclear what lead up to the shooting.
