RESEDA, Calif. (KABC) -- A 89-year-old woman was killed in a four-vehicle crash in Reseda early Sunday.
The crash happened at the intersection of Victory Boulevard and Wilbur Avenue shortly after midnight, police said. Lorenzo Gonzalez, 24, was heading westbound on Victory in a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta when he rear-ended a 2000 Nissan Altima, police said.
The impact pushed the victim's car into the intersection. The Altima went out of control and collided with a Toyota Avalon that was stopped waiting to turn left. The Avalon traveled backward upon impact and collided with a KIA Rio stopped behind it.
Justina Larrea, 89, of Palmdale, was riding inside the Altima with 55-year-old Moises Montano. Larrea was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the first vehicle was arrested on DUI charges.
Police said they are looking for additional witnesses, particularly the driver of a white sports sedan. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
