OXNARD, Calif. (KABC) -- A man was shot in front of his own home by robbery suspects in Oxnard on Wednesday night.

Authorities say the victim was outside his home talking on the phone when he was approached by two men in their 20s near Charles Street and Campbell Way at 9:45 p.m.

The suspects demanded his personal belongings, and when he refused, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and shot the victim.

The victim ran inside his house to get help. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
