Santa Ana shooting leaves male in critical condition, police say

SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- A male was in critical condition after being shot Saturday morning in Santa Ana, authorities said.

Officers responded at 6:28 a.m. to shots fired in the 12000 block of South Standard Avenue, a spokesperson for the Santa Police Department said.

The shooting victim was found inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound to his upper torso.

The male was transported to a local hospital, where he was undergoing surgery, according to police.

The motive for the shooting was unknown and no suspect information was available.
