Search and rescue called off at Point Fermin

POINT FERMIN, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Search and rescue efforts for two boaters were called off Sunday afternoon at Point Fermin in San Pedro after reports were found to be incorrect.

A boat was reported in distress on the rocks at about 1:45 p.m. Los Angeles Fire Department was searching by air, land and sea for two stranded boaters, but those resources were quickly recalled, officials said.

No patients were located, LAFD officials said.
