SHERMAN OAKS, Calif. (KABC) -- A repaving project along Van Nuys Boulevard in Sherman Oaks may impact weekend traffic for San Fernando motorists.

Crews will be repaving a stretch of Van Nuys Boulevard between Ventura and Magnolia boulevards throughout the weekend.

The $700,000 project called, "Van Nuys Boulevard Street Lift," includes repaving the ramps to and from the 101 Freeway to Van Nuys Boulevard.

The upgrade will include new lane striping, repainted curbs and cleanup of sidewalks, officials said. Caltrans also plans to take advantage of the ramp closures to conduct its own freeway maintenance.

The last time the street was resurfaced was 16 years ago.
