Some DMV offices still plagued by computer outages

CULVER CITY, Calif. (KABC) -- The Department of Motor Vehicles continues to have computer problems that are leaving customers frustrated.

The agency said 122 of its 188 locations were affected by a computer outage that shut down offices across the state last week.

Motorists who went to DMV offices Monday after being turned away last week found most - but not all - locations up and running.

As of Monday, DMV said about 12 offices were down but some were coming back online.

Dana Goller said he's been trying to register a vehicle for about a week now. He got turned away again at the Culver City office.

"Took a day off of work to come here," Goller said. "It's the same situation. They won't even give me a temporary tag to drive off."

The agency is posting online updates on the status of its offices.

As of Monday night, offices in Southern California with limited operations included Arleta, Costa Mesa, Culver City, Hawthorne and Los Angeles, among others.
