Surveillance images released in death of disabled man on scooter
Los Angeles police released surveillance images of two suspects tied to the beating death of a disabled Navy veteran.

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles police released surveillance images of two suspects tied to the beating death of a disabled Navy veteran.

The images show a man in his mid-20s with very distinctive, white, large plug-type earrings. The pictures also show another man with a short beard wearing a hat walking beside the first suspect.

The incident occurred on Sept. 21. Louie Rodriguez was leaving the Hollywood Music Festival when he was confronted by the suspects near the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue. Authorities say one of the suspects hit Rodriguez, knocking him off his scooter and onto the ground. Rodriguez hit his head on the ground, which is what led to his death.

Rodriguez's family members are distraught, saying the only thing they have to remember him by is the dog he had with him at the time of the attack.

Los Angeles City Councilman Mitch O'Farrell held a news conference on Wednesday, pushing for a $50,000 reward to be offered in this case. The City Council is expected to vote on the reward on Friday.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 1-877-LAPD-24-7.
