THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (KABC) -- Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a male suspect who was caught on surveillance video robbing an elderly disabled woman at a gas station in Thousand Oaks earlier this month.

The incident occurred in the 300 block of Hampshire Road on June 10 at about 7:30 p.m.

The male suspect told the victim he could fix several scratches on her car and then told the victim to give her telephone number to his wife, who was sitting in their black Kia Soul.

As the victim approached his wife, the suspect reached into the victim's car and stole her wallet and jewelry. He then got in his own car and left the area with his wife and children.

Surveillance video shows the suspect making a purchase inside the gas station store before committing the crime. He was described by witnesses as a heavy set Middle-Eastern man between 35 and 45 years old.

Anyone with information on this incident was urged to contact Thousand Oaks police Sgt. Jason Robarts at (805) 947-8108.
