SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- Investigators are warning the public of a new ATM scam after two suspects robbed a 66-year-old man of his life savings in Santa Ana.

Basilio Miya said the men approached him outside his home, making a bet displaying $1,500 and saying Miya would not be able to get his hard-earned money out of the bank.

Miya agreed to try and take his money out and rode with the men in this car to a Wells Fargo bank, according to Santa Ana police.

Surveillance video captured him walking in with one of the suspects before withdrawing his life savings of about $5,000, authorities said.

The men quickly ran to their car and drove off, leaving Miya behind.

"These suspects prey on victims like this and like I say every day, it's a new scam," said Anthony Bertagna of the Santa Ana Police Department.

The two suspects are described as Hispanic men in their 50s.
