Suspicious package reported in Terminal 4 at LAX

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles International Airport police reported a suspicious item in one of the screening machines inside Terminal 4 on Tuesday afternoon.

The suspicious item was reported at about 3:45 p.m. inside the ticketing area. Los Angeles Police Department's bomb squad arrived on scene to investigate, while the immediate area was evacuated and the roadway was closed around the west end of the terminal.

By about 4:20 p.m., the situation appeared to have been resolved. Passengers were being let back into the terminal and the roadway was opened shortly after.
