Panorama City felony suspect arrested after standoff

PANORAMA CITY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A felony suspect barricaded inside a Panorama City residence prompted evacuations and a SWAT team call Thursday afternoon. The suspect was taken into custody Thursday night.

An LAPD SWAT team was called to a Panorama City residence Thursday at about 4:15 p.m. A felony suspect was reportedly inside a residence near Murietta Avenue and Parthenia Street refusing to come out.

Some evacuations in the area were ordered. Other area residents were ordered to shelter in place.

LAPD Captain Todd Chamberlain tweeted at 8:03 p.m. that the suspect was taken into custody, that officers and the suspect were fine, and the neighborhood was secure and safe.

L.A. Fire Department personnel were also on scene during the incident.
