CULVER CITY, Calif. (KABC) -- Police in Culver City on Tuesday are on the hunt for a suspect who attacked a 90-year-old man before stealing his wallet and fleeing.

Police said the elderly man was sitting down at the food court in the Westfield Culver City mall on Nov. 16, when the suspect walked up, ripped gold chains from the victim's neck and threw him to the ground.

While the elderly man was on the floor, the suspect took his wallet and ran off, authorities from Culver City PD said.

The victim was hospitalized with minor injuries and was expected to be OK.

The image of the suspect was captured on security cameras, and police hope the public can help identify him.

He is described as an African-American man between 25-30 years old, and approximately 6 feet tall with a thin build.

Anyone with information was urged to contact Detective Brent Arney at 310-253-6347 or the Culver City PD Watch Commander at 310-253-6202.
