Police are investigating after a threatening message was left at a mosque in Tustin.

The anonymous message left on the answering machine at Darul Falah makes references to dropping a bomb and refers to "worshipping your pedophilic God."

The message said: "I was wondering where I was supposed to drop the bomb. Because I'm a good (expletive) and I do not know where to drop the bomb. OK, thank you. Have a lovely day worshipping your pedophilic God."

The mosque, which reported the message to police and to the Council on American-Islamic Relations, is continuing its daily prayer services as normal, but is asking members to be more aware of their surroundings.

They are also installing surveillance cameras.

The call was particularly worrisome in a recent climate of an increase in anti-Muslim hate crimes, such as a stabbing near a Simi Valley mosque over the weekend.

"People make prank calls and maybe in the past we've had some of those, and that's not very significant but in the current environment and with what happened in Simi Valley we got really concerned," said Mazhar Zubairi, director of Darul Falah.

CAIR said there have been more such incidents seen nationwide.

"While we try our best to encourage people not to panic the reality is that these threats do have an impact," said Hussam Ayloush, with CAIR of greater Los Angeles.

Tustin police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
