Shots fired during Culver City bank robbery
Shots were fired during a bank robbery involving four suspects in Culver City Thursday, prompting a massive police response.

CULVER CITY, Calif. (KABC) -- Shots were fired during a bank robbery involving four suspects in Culver City Thursday morning, prompting a massive police response.

The armed robbery was reported at One West Bank, located at 10784 Jefferson Blvd, around 9 a.m. The suspects went into the bank, and there was an altercation with a security guard.

Shots were fired, shattering a glass window, but no one was injured, police said.

The suspects fled in a vehicle down Jefferson Boulevard. Authorities say one person was arrested after a short foot pursuit.

Then a nearby T.J. Maxx store was evacuated as police searched for the suspects. Investigators say one person was detained outside the store.

One or two other suspects were seen going into the residential neighborhood, so SWAT officials and K-9 units conducted a door-to-door search in the area of Vera and Malat ways.

The search was called off just after 4 p.m. Two possible suspects remain outstanding. Police described them as black men in their 20s. One suspect was wearing a dark-colored sweater, and the other was wearing a black hoodie, sunglasses and a baseball hat.
