Toppled tree takes out power for Silver Lake residents
A large tree toppled over in Silver Lake Thursday morning, taking out power for many area residents.

SILVER LAKE, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A large tree toppled over in Silver Lake Thursday morning, taking out power for many area residents.

According to a spokesperson with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, 2,293 customers in the neighborhood were without power as of 5:58 a.m.

The utility posted on Twitter at around 10 a.m. saying all power has been restored, but crews will work to remove the tree from the road throughout the day.

The incident occurred at 2128 Griffith Park Blvd. at Lyric Avenue. The tree, which was blocking a portion of Griffith Park Boulevard, took down power, cable and telephone lines. No one was injured, and no property damage was reported.
