NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Friends and family will mourn on Thursday a 20-year-old man who died after lightning struck Venice Beach, as officials release the results of his autopsy.
The autopsy confirmed that Nick Fagnano was electrocuted when a bolt of lightning struck the water on both sides of the pier in Venice Beach, electrifying the water on Sunday. The death was ruled an accident in the report.
A private funeral is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at St. Brendan Catholic Church, 310 S. Van Ness Ave., in Los Angeles.
The lightning was the first in at least seven years at a California beach.
