Police arrested a 55-year-old woman for a bank robbery in Garden Grove.

GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (KABC) -- Garden Grove police arrested a woman who allegedly used a replica rifle to rob about $500 from a Farmers & Merchants Bank branch Tuesday morning.

Police say the woman entered the bank at 10422 Garden Grove Blvd. shortly before 11 a.m., displayed a weapon and demanded money.

She was given cash and was last seen fleeing the bank in a black Saturn. Police had originally estimated her take at $200, but later updated the figure to $500.

Bank employees followed the woman outside and videotaped her vehicle as she fled, according to the FBI.

With that information, detectives were able to track down the suspect, identified as 55-year-old Mary Lynn Taber, to a location in the 800 block of South Beach Boulevard in Anaheim about an hour after the robbery.

Taber was taken into custody and booked into the Orange County Jail for robbery. She had already deposited the money in another bank. Investigators say they have also linked her to another 2014 bank robbery in Garden Grove.

Inside the vehicle they found a weapon which turned out to be a toy.

The FBI says Taber is only the second female bank robbery suspect in Orange County since July 2012.
