SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- Police are investigating the death of a woman in her 40s at a Santa Ana market on Wednesday.
Authorities say the woman entered the El Toro Carniceria-Meat Shop in the 1300 block of W. 1st Street just before 9 a.m. and was causing a disturbance.
According to police, the woman was acting strangely and started to take her clothes off. A security guard and a store manager restrained her with handcuffs and moved her into a back room.
"There was a small scuffle with the security officers and the manager to take her into custody," said Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.
Before officers arrived, the woman had a medical issue, and she died before police arrived at the scene, Bertagna said.
It is not yet known if the woman was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
A coroner will perform an autopsy to determine the woman's cause of death. Her name has not been released.
