SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- A woman was shot in the back during an argument between two men in San Bernardino, police said. The suspect is on the loose.

The incident happened in the 1400 block of Sepulveda Avenue just before 11 p.m. Friday, police said.

The argument escalated, and one of the men pulled out a gun and started shooting. The girlfriend of one of the men ran for cover, but was shot once in the back.

She was rushed to the hospital in stable condition, police said. The boyfriend was not hit.

Police have only described the suspect as a Hispanic man. No other details were available.
