LONG BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- The body of a woman in her 20s was found early Thursday morning on the side of a road in Long Beach and police believe she may have been the victim of a hit-and-run.

Her body was found around 4 a.m. on Spring Street between Temple and Redondo avenues, not far from the Long Beach Airport. Some people who work in nearby businesses wondered if perhaps the body had been dumped in that location.

Investigators have been examining surveillance footage from nearby businesses.

They believe the suspect was driving a white Mercedes-Benz with a sunroof and tinted windows. The driver was believed to be a man in his 20s or 30s wearing a baseball cap.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the Long Beach Police Department.
