IRWINDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- A wrong-way driver slammed into a vehicle on the northbound 605 Freeway in Irwindale Tuesday night, injuring four people, three of whom where children, and blocking at least three lanes.

The crash occurred near Lower Azusa Road at about 8:45 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol officials.

The three lanes were blocked for more than an hour, as the wreckage was removed.
