2 bobcats spotted in tree of Valencia neighborhood

VALENCIA, Calif. (KABC) -- Two bobcats seemingly in a territorial dispute were spotted fighting in a tree in a Valencia neighborhood on Sunday.

The cats were seen at about noon in the 27000 block of Brighton Lane. Santa Clarita sheriff's deputies warned residents to keep children and pets inside.

Homeowner Arnie Alonzo said his wife called the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, but no one answered. When she called the sheriff's department, they came immediately.

"They said they don't take care of bobcats," Alonzo said.

After waiting a bit, one cat came down and disappeared into tall brush.
