2 hungry bears rummage for food in Monrovia neighborhood

MONROVIA, Calif. (KABC) -- Two hungry bears were on the hunt in Monrovia early Friday morning, looking for food in a quiet residential neighborhood.

A large bear was spotted around 2 a.m. in the 500 block of North Alta Vista Avenue.

It's not unusual for these wild animals to roam this area.

About 30 minutes later, another bear sighting was reported less than two miles away.

Wildlife officials say bear sightings in the area are becoming more common, possibly because of the drought.
