FONTANA, Calif. (KABC) -- Police are warning Fontana residents with pets about a recent mountain lion sighting in the residential area of Hunters Ridge.
A large mountain lion was seen carrying away a 15-pound dog on the 4200 block of Foxborough Drive Saturday night. It headed south behind some homes and then disappeared into a deep ravine, police said.
Officers responded to the scene and searched the area, but the mountain lion was gone. Police say the mountain lion has been seen in the same area on several occasions and doesn't appear to be scared off easily by the presence of humans.
Officials recommend keeping your pets indoors, and if you spot the animal, call police.
