WEST COVINA, Calif. (KABC) -- Brides on the lookout for wedding dress deals poured into a now bankrupt bridal store in West Covina, grabbing gowns originally priced in the thousands for less than $300.

The Alfred Angelo Bridal Shop, which permanently closed in July after declaring bankruptcy, sold off its inventory to a liquidation company. That company now has all the gowns and dresses dramatically marked down.

"We have dresses that went all the way up to $5,000," said liquidation manager Jorge Esparza. "All of them are now $299."

Esparza says when word of the sale got out, women began lining up outside the store. The doors were supposed to open at 11 a.m. Friday, but he decided to let them in at 8 a.m. By noon, the once-packed racks were whittled down considerably.

"Its a great deal," said bride-to-be Christina McGuire. "I need a dress and now I can have a couple."

Esparza says the sale is slated to last through February, but will end when all the dresses are gone. At this pace, he doesn't see it lasting past the weekend.
