LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Our ABC7 Cool Kid for Thursday, Dec. 31, is Dana Bryant, who works hard during the holidays to make a difference for the less fortunate in Los Angeles.

Bryant is a young woman who really wanted to do something good for people who might not be having a happy holiday season.

"We just volunteered downtown at Skid Row, and we handed out toys to the kids. We made balloon animals, actually. It was really fun," she said.

Bryant knows that life for so many children is difficult but hopes this is one way to bring them a little light and happiness.

"It's really unfortunate that they live that way. I try to just show joy to them, and making them smile was really great," she said. "And hopefully, it makes their life a little better that day."

Bryant makes quite an impression on people along with her passion for giving back.

"She's just a real sweet kid and has a real gentle and humble spirit," said Jimmy Orellana, a pastor and friend of Bryant. "And just wants to help wherever needed.

Bryant recognizes that the holiday season can be extra tough on people, especially the little ones.

"I think how I would feel if I was in that position, I'd want someone to show love to me and make me feel better, especially around the holiday time. It's a time of joy and family," she said.

This holiday season, Dana Bryant showed how one cool kid can really make a difference and bring a much needed smile to those who need it most.
