Eastvale high school prom tickets sell out; seniors upset
Students at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Eastvale can't wait to go to their prom, but the problem is that tickets for the event are sold out.

EASTVALE, Calif. (KABC) -- Students at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Eastvale can't wait to go to their prom, but the problem is that tickets for the event are sold out.

Senior Landenn Rey has the perfect dress and sparkly shoes to dance the night away at the prom, but she did not have a ticket to go.

"It's something I've always dreamed about going to," she said.

Landenn ended up getting a ticket Wednesday after being on a waiting list for some time, but she knows many of her friends are still unable to attend the dance.

Officials with the Corona-Norco Unified School District said prom tickets went on sale four weeks ago. Students, especially seniors, were told to buy their tickets early.

Although the tickets had been advertised for weeks, students said the venue that is booked for the event is too small.

"There's over 1,000 juniors alone, and then there's another 1,000 seniors and they're expecting half of one class to go," Landenn said.

All 865 tickets have been sold, and David Metters bought two tickets early. Still, he said many of his friends will be staying home.

"Well, I do think it's kind of unfair for mainly seniors and they can't go to their senior prom," he said.

Landenn said that juniors were refunding their tickets so that seniors could have a chance to go to the prom.
