HOLLYWOOD BOWL

Have you ever been to the Hollywood Bowl in the daytime? The Hollywood Bowl is actually a county park, open to the public and totally free during the day! Run the stairs of the famous amphitheatre, bring a lunch and hang out in one of their many beautiful picnic spots, or visit the Hollywood Bowl Museum. A totally cool experience, and unlike on busy concert nights, the parking is wide open and completely free!

FORD AMPHITHEATRE-MONDAY NIGHT JAM SESSIONS

For almost 100 years, the Ford Amphitheater has been bringing genuine L.A. entertainment to its stage. The Ford's Jam Sessions invite participants of all skill levels to release their inner artist with samba, tap dance, ukulele, Bollywood, son jarocho and much more. LA BREA TAR PITS AT PAGE MUSEUM

La Brea Tar Pits takes an in-depth look at the ice age era of Los Angeles, and is one of the world's most renowned fossil sites, with more than five million fossils in their collection. There's the famous Lake Pit and Pit 91, a "live" excavation! The Tar Pits is also home to the only active urban paleontology excavation site in the country, where they've been digging history out of the muck for more than 100 years - and you can witness it all for free!

Eye on L.A. discovered that some of the best nights out in DTLA are actually free! Weekends in the summertime bring free concerts, dancing and drumming to Music Center Plaza and Grand Park.

Every other Friday night from 6:30-10 pm, May through September, get your groove on at "Dance Downtown" with free dance lessons in Music Center Plaza. From tango to disco, Bollywood to zydeco - all ages and experience levels welcome! Tina Malave's pick for both a great 'Family Night Out' AND best 'Singles Night Out'!

Then, Saturday mornings from 10:00-11:30 a.m. bring out your primal nature with "Drum Downtown." Drums and percussion instruments provided for this morning of family fun in Grand Park!
