PALEY CENTER FOR MEDIA

For TV lovers, the Paley Center in Beverly Hills is a must! SCREEN NOVELTIES

Screen Novelties is a production company that specializes in a movie-making technique called "stop motion," one of the oldest and most nostalgic forms of animation. It also happens to be the most arduous, with a full day's work only producing about 4-10 seconds of usable footage. But as the artists will remind us, it's 4-10 seconds of "very cool footage."

Ever wonder how Hollywood animal trainers learn to do what they do? Many of them learn at the Exotic Animal Training and Management Program at Moorpark College. The world renowned course is a 2-year program that teaches students to be zoo keepers, wild life educators and Hollywood animal trainers. They also have the distinction of being known as "America's Teaching Zoo," complete with a 5-acre zoo housing 130 animals that the students learn to care for and work with on a daily basis.

PANORAMA ON VIEW

Long before 3D movies and IMAX theaters, there were panoramas, and we found a place where you can still experience this early art form here in L.A. The Velaslavasay Panorama, located in the historic Union Theater in the West Adams district, takes you back in time for some 19th century-style entertainment.
