A bride is thanking her local Safeway for coming to the rescue after smoke from a nearby fire forced her wedding guests to evacuate the home where the ceremony was being held.

Eric and Rachel Nelson had planned for their Saturday nuptials to be held at their home in Yelm, Wash.; but a nearby forest fire forced guests to evacuate to a nearby Safeway.

Wedding guest Kelley Brest wrote about the incident on Facebook, saying that the grocery store brought out tables and chairs for the wedding party.

Eric and Rachel considered getting married in the grass next to the Safeway store, but the air cleared, and the party was able to return to its original location, according to KIRO.

"It was a crazy, crazy day," Rachel wrote on Facebook. Rachel also expressed her gratitude for Safeway's kind matrimonial gesture.

"Thank you to the amazing staff at Yelm Safeway for providing us chairs, food and a cake! They were truely [sic] amazing! Thank you so much!!!"
