Girl survives cancer, invents IV backpack
A young girl who was fighting cancer realized that the IV poles that held her medicine were problematic, so she invented the pediatric IV backpack.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- An 11-year-old Connecticut girl used her own experiences with cancer to invent something to help kids like her.

Kylie Simonds realized that the IV poles that held her medicine were problematic because she kept tripping over the wires.

She created the IV Pediatric Backpack, which has won a number of awards already.
