LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- As a way to curb drunk driving and possible deadly crashes, the Southern California Honda Dealers offered SoCal residents a complimentary UberX ride home.

The Helpful Honda Guys covered the cost of a ride home from Uber and offered a code during a Super Bowl ad. Southern California residents can use the code "HELPFUL" to get the free and safe ride.

According to five years of California crash data, there was a 77 percent increase in alcohol-related crashes that could cause injury or death on Super Bowl Sunday.
