When a young girl who is "5 almost 6 years old" decided to write a letter to President Barack Obama expressing her support for same-sex marriage, the president wrote back.

"Please stop war for our world, instead have a meeting," reads Yasmeen Faruqui's handwritten note, posted to Twitter by her aunt. "Please give a speech to tell everyone they can marry who they want."

President Obama, who has only sent six messages since beginning his personal Twitter account last week, replied that he "couldn't agree more."

Both Yasmeen's mom and her aunt told ABC News that the letter was completely the idea of the 5-year-old, who will participate in the same-sex wedding of a relative this fall.

"She's very much an independent thinker," said Fahmida Zaman,Yasmeen's aunt. "She attempts to respectfully color outside the lines."

Yasmeen, whose father is in the Navy, also hoped her letter would end the war. Mom Tasha Faruqui said that when her daughter heard about the president's response, she had to explain that the war was not over. Still, her aunt said, Yasmeen was ecstatic.

"I think it says a lot about our president, responding to a letter of a 5-year-old. That's pretty remarkable," Zaman told ABC News. "It lets her feel like her voice is heard."
