Swim safety tips for July 4th weekend

PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- The Rose Bowl Aquatics Center in Pasadena offered reminders Friday for staying safe in the water over Fourth of July weekend and through the summer.

Experts at the center said when outdoors with family and friends, remember to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated and only swim in pools or bodies of water that are supervised by accredited staff such as lifeguards.

Learning to swim is a major factor in the summer season as well.

The Rose Bowl Aquatics Center pools are open to all communities, offering memberships and daily passes.
